ABOUT HER
Aimee’s skillset rapidly transverse the creative spectrum; Now most well known as a Production Designer with 8 years experience working in film, her roots in the arts were grounded young, whist all kids play with paints and clay, young aimee took it very seriously. Skipping to the later years, in high school her classes were focuses on the ‘P’ painting, printmaking, photography, physics and then drama. I believe these years enriched my love for design and set my young mind on its first path that then still was unknown to me.
Aimee 22, 2012 brought a one way ticket to London, in the years prior she had found herself managing cafes and running events, this - the training for art directing & running the art department. It wasn’t until the beloved job as a cheesemonger was put on the line as she returned to New Zealand to apply for a visa.
Then 2015, faced with no job - what’s next. Surrounding her, were people who still got to appreciate and receive her makings and creations, just for the love of it. Only then did someone say to me “ Do you know there’s this thing called the Art Department ? - it’s like arts & crafts, you’ll get to make what you do for a living.”
THE REST IS BECOMING HISTORY
HER ACUTE EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE, INSPIRING WORK ETHIC AND ARTISTIC DIRECTION IS CRUCIAL FOR THE PLANNING & RESEARCHING OF A PROJECT, THE SKETCH UP & DESIGN, THE PROP SOURCING & BUYING … THROUGH TO THE BUILD, PAINTING & DRESSING OF SETS.
AIMEE IS COMFORTABLE AND CONFIDENT, ON AND OFF SET, UNDER PRESSURE, MANAGING HER DEPARTMENT. BRINGING A ENERGISING, ORGANISED AND RELIABLE MEMBER OF ANY TEAM OR PRODUCTION.
MUCKING IN WHEN NEEDED AND GETTING DIRTY HAS NEVER BEEN A PROBLEM.
